Clarke Construction was established in Marlborough in 2007 by Ant and Sarah Clarke, and has grown to become one of the region’s leading architectural building companies.
Our solid reputation for service, reliability and excellent workmanship, has enabled us to establish strong relationships with local architects, designers and tradesmen. We use experienced sub-contractors and suppliers for all our building projects, and have a reliable, hardworking team who are forward thinking and embrace new technologies, materials and products.
We pride ourselves on our ability to develop strong relationships with our clients, and believe that regular, open communication is integral to the success of every building project. This proven approach means that most of our work comes from repeat business or referrals. Our clients enjoy working with us and we love being part of their building journey.
Strength in numbers.
In Aug 2018 Clarke Construction acquired Haack Construction, a Marlborough stalwart of commercial builds and refurbishments. Clarke & Haack Construction now offers a combined 40+ years of construction experience in both architectural and commercial builds and employs more than 25 staff at their Head Office and on various sites throughout Marlborough.
Notable past projects include the Blenheim i-Site building, the Picton Emergency Operations Centre, school buildings and other Marlborough commercial projects.
Health + safety.
At Clarke Construction, we operate under strict workplace safety guidelines set out in our Intesafety Health and Safety Management Plan and meet all occupational Health and Safety regulations both on and off site. We are also a member of the Registered Master Builders Association.

Ant & Sarah Clarke.
As a Licensed Building Practitioner and owner, Ant Clarke personally oversees all projects. He is regularly on site to ensure that every aspect of your building project is completed to the highest standard, and provides comprehensive support to you as a client throughout the project to ensure your building project is a success.
With over 25 years of residential and commercial building experience, Ant has developed an impressive wealth of construction knowledge and expertise. Combining these skills with his ability to project manage, enables Ant to oversee his reliable team of qualified builders and apprentices, equipped to handle a wide range of new building and renovation work.
Ant is also a director of St Andrews Property Group Ltd, a developer of seasonal vineyard worker accommodation.
In her role as operations manager, Sarah Clarke manages the office team and helps to keep your building project running smoothly. She coordinates the costing process, ensures budgets are kept on track and is responsible for keeping the lines of communication open, and the team’s systems and processes strong. Sarah is involved with every building and renovation project completed by Clarke Construction.

Ant and Sarah believe the key to their company is their staff. They are proud of their long serving team consisting of project supervisors, site foremen, qualified builders and apprentices learning their trade. Many of them have been with Clarke Construction for a number of years so understand the philosophy and values of the company, and are experienced at finding solutions and innovative ideas to help enhance a project and to help reduce costs.
