Anthony Clarke and the creation of Clarke ConstructionAwatere Valley raised, Ant left the farm at 17 years old, heading to Christchurch in search of new experiences. He took up an apprenticeship with renowned builders CS Luney, qualifying in carpentry and joinery. Ant worked there for over 8 years under the strict tutelage of Luney’s exacting standards in workmanship and project delivery. Ant then took his skills overseas, running a small construction crew in London and Dublin for several years, where they worked on various commercial and residential projects.
Upon returning to New Zealand in 2002, Ant set up AD Clarke Construction Ltd in Christchurch before moving home and business back to Marlborough in 2007. By this time he had met and married Sarah, who now helps run the business alongside Ant. Along with their children, Guy, George and Pippa, Ant and Sarah enjoy the relaxed lifestyle of the region. Their shared local passion for the outdoors and strong family values is reflected in the range of quality homes crafted by Clarke Construction.
The business is now known simply as Clarke Construction, and has grown into a reliable team of qualified builders and apprentices, equipped to handle a wide range of new building and renovation work in both residential and commercial construction.
